| The fern-like Firecracker Plant
has a weeping growth habit. The rush-like, almost leafless
stems start growing vertically but the weight of the branch
soon causes it to bow and cascade. The plant produces clusters
of bright red tubular flowers that look like firecrackers
and are about 1" long. Perfect for hanging pots or a
raised spot that will allow the plant to flow over the edges. |

Prefers frequent watering in a
well drained soil. Do not let the soil dry completely. |

to a height of 2 to 2-1/2 feet tall and 1-1/2 feet wide..
It will bloom from spring until fall when planted outside
and will bloom all year long as a houseplant. Popular uses
include planting in hanging baskets for indoors or outside,

History:
This plant is native to Mexico
but has spread into California, Southern Florida. It is
cultivated in pots or protected sites into zone 8. |
